'Hey Google, Buy Solo: A Star Wars Story Tickets'
Online movie ticket retailer Fandango has partnered with Google to allow users to purchase movie tickets through the Assistant app via voice action.
Fandango offered phrases such as "Hey Google, let's buy movie tickets" or "Hey Google, let's buy tickets for Solo: A Star Wars Story," as examples of ways users can now direct Google Assistant to find tickets for movies – specifically Solo: A Star Wars Story, for which advance tickets are now on sale through these voice actions ahead of its May 25 release.
"At Fandango, we've built ticketing innovations for a wide variety of mobile, social, AI bot and voice-activated platforms, so we can super-serve moviegoers at scale, wherever and whenever they are thinking about and planning a trip to the movies," said Fandango President Paul Yanover in a statement. "We're thrilled to be working with Google once again, bringing movie discovery and ticketing capabilities to users on the Google Assistant, and giving them access to the widest choice of theaters from their living room or while on the go."
Fandango also announced that the voice actions would launch for Google Assistant's iOS version by the end of this year.
