Maarten Blaauw
Professor, School of Natural and Built Environment, Queen's University Belfast
I work on producing age-models for many kinds of archives of past environmental changes, e.g. sediments in lakes and oceans, as well as peat. I work with radiocarbon dates and love producing open-source R packages (e.g., rbacon, rplum, coffee, rice, clam) to produce enhanced techniques and make them available to the larger research community. I am Director of the 14CHRONO Centre for Climate, the Environment and Chronology, at the Department for Geography, Archaeology and Palaeoecology, School of Natural and Built Environment, Queen's University Belfast.
