For legions of "Doctor Who" fans, The Master is the most diabolical villain ever to invade the sci-fi franchise, a renegade Time Lord who relishes torturing Doctors of any regeneration.

To honor the 50th anniversary of the character's debut TV appearance in 1971 for the episode "Terror of the Autons," London-based Titan Comics is delivering a new four-issue "Doctor Who" miniseries in April starring the Doctors’ darkest rival with the debut of "Missy #1."

Hot on the heels of Titan's recent "Doctor Who" crossover adventures showcasing the Tenth and Thirteenth Doctors as they leapfrogged decades and clashed with classic villains like the Weeping Angels, Skithra, Sea Devils, and Autons, this fresh tale expands the temporal tapestry with the first solo comic book targeting the Twelfth Doctor's alien nemesis, Missy (as played by Michelle Gomez).

Celebrate the Doctor's greatest foe with Missy #1 launching on April 14, 2021 for the 50th anniversary of the Master's first appearance.

Gomez's portrayal of the "Queen of Evil" was the first female incarnation of the character when she joined "Doctor Who" in 2014 to face off against Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor.

Here's the official synopsis:

"Missy wages war on the Doctor, but this time she's not alone! Can the combined brilliance of the Third and Twelfth Doctor avert her deadly scheme, or will she get her hands on a secret weapon capable of wreaking havoc on the universe? This special story, celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Master's first appearance, will feature more Doctors and Masters than ever before."

This malevolent "Missy" series features the return of the acclaimed creative team behind many "Doctor Who" comics, with Eisner-nominated writer Jody Houser ("Stranger Things," "Spider-Man"), illustrator Roberta Ingranata (“Witchblade"), and colorist Enrica Angiolini ("Warhammer 40,000") back in the TARDIS for Titan's new project.

"I wrote a few pages of Missy way back in 'The Road to Thirteen,' and I've been dying to write more of her ever since," Houser told Titan. "Her ineffable cunning and sense of fun make her the most delightful sort of monster."

"Missy #1" drops into your time zone on April 14 with the first of a striking four-part Masters connected cover set by Claudia Caranfa spotlighting Michelle Gomez, John Simm, Roger Delgado, and Sacha Dhawan, and a variant by artist David Busian ("Star Wars Adventures").
